Steano Gersville Beukes (born 18 January, 1992), better known for his stage name Yung Esh and alter ego Yungeling, is an South African rapper, writer, music and video producer. Yung Esh is part of the BtBz, a group of friends since primary school. Yung Esh was also affiliated with N.O.1 (2006) and Witzenberg Se Leeus (WSL) in 2016. Yung Esh found Esh Records in the year, 2015.

As an underground rapper, Yung Esh wrote his way into the rap scene on Ceres Secondary School in 2006. He connected with a group at the time called JLC, that later changed to N.O.1, and host cypher battles during class breaks on school. The writing ability of Yung Esh, got himself a recording opportunity with N.O.1 and featured for the "Besef" track. This opportunity was educating, helping Yung Esh develop recording knowledge. He got exposed to the digital audio world, by working with a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) for audio recording.

After matriculating high school, Yung Esh furthered his studies in medical biosciences at UWC in 2010. He got exposed to an internet rich environment, where he did his research. Yung Esh made use of the resources to gain access and fully understand the DAW. After being introduced to Dimi3 Jacobs, they began to produce the "Falling Star" track. By experimenting with a DAW and consulting Dimi3 , Yung Esh began to produce beats.

After graduating his B.Sc. (degree) in 2013, he continued to focus on music. Yung Esh changed jobs from 7 different non-musical organizations. The persistence he have for music, spark the thought of starting his own record label in 2015. His research ability and medical knowledge helped him understand the art of music- mixing and mastering. Yung Esh collaborated with the WSL in 2016 for their “Raw Mixtape”, and did a few performances on their shows. During that period, Yung Esh and HeinRich collaborated to remake "Afrikaans" which pushed them to work on the “100 mixtape”.

While busy recording the “100 mixtape”, Yung Esh was writing and recording music for the “Rising Star mixtape”. This mixtape was set for release on the 20th January 2017, two days after the birthday of Yung Esh. By researching and experimenting with video editing, Yung Esh gained experience to incorporate the knowledge in his videos. The music video for “Plaas Japie” is the first video to be released, on 17 October 2019, from the “Rising Star mixtape”. Fees Maal is a 2019 banger available on all streaming platform, accompanied with a music video.

"The ability to dream, chases it, and becoming one with it, makes us superior in life." - Yung Esh.
